Today I have just a short post, a quick and friendly suggestion.
Facebook is usually considered the most personal of all the social networks. A lot of people only add people they have a personal connection with. So, if you don’t have friends in common with someone or share a pre-established relationship, you should always include a personal message about how you know each other or why it would be good to connect. This gives your invitee the opportunity to respond rather than ignoring the request right away.
This is particularly true if you are of the opposite sex. And especially true if your avatar is you wearing camouflage, sitting in a forest and you slightly resemble The Unabomber.
