Anyone that has spoken to me over the last few months has probably heard me talk about EventCamp. As a co-founder of this event, it is near and dear to my heart. EventCamp is an experiment in meeting planning. While its primary focus is on integrating social media and technology into events, it’s really about experimenting with new formats. EventCamp gives event professionals the opportunity to try new things in a safe environment. I like to think of EventCampers as FEARLESS.
The EventCamp National conference is right around the corner, taking place on February 11-13th in Chicago at Catalyst Ranch. I welcome any readers to attend this event, either in-person or as a remote attendee. Here is some information.
The conference will feature keynote speakers: Chris Brogan, Liz Strauss, and Hank Wasiak. In addition, several breakout sessions have been crowd sourced by the event community, making this a truly collaborative event. For those attendees that enjoyed what they heard during the keynote presentation, special “continue the conversation” sessions have been planned to give you the opportunity to expand upon ideas that you just heard.
The cost to attend is $149 which covers a welcome reception on Friday, February 11th and educational sessions on the 12th and a half day on the 13th. Register at http://ecnc2011.eventbrite.com/ or visit www.eventcamp.org for more information.
If you are unable to attend in-person, but would like to participate, the event will be live-streamed and archived thanks to support from our sponsors Sonic Foundry, InXpo and Core Staging. Check in at www.eventcamp.org to get the link to the webcast. The hash tag for the event is #ECNC.
EventCamp is a truly collaborative event and wouldn’t be possible without my teammates: Christina Coster (it was her idea), Jeff Hurt, Mike McAllen (McDreamy) and Mike McCurry (McSteamy).
I am very excited about this year’s event and will be sharing my thoughts as we get closer to February 11th. I hope to see you all there!
